This caffeine-free chai latte recipe is short AND definitely sweet!

With the hustle and bustle among us, we often want to reach for an afternoon pick me up, when we know that, for some of us, caffeine doesn't work in our favor (think sleeping through the night and healing adrenal fatigue)

We all love the ritual of special drinks. I know in my house it is something we all look forward to and creates a great feeling swirling through the house when we all are making something together.

Try this for your afternoon “coffee break” (one the kids can enjoy with you!)

Caffeine-Free Chai Latte

Serves 1-2

1 bag of rooibos chai tea (rooibos is naturally caffeine-free)

2 cups of boiling water

1 tablespoon tahini

1 tablespoon almond butter (creamy is preferred)

2 dates (optional)

1 dash of chai spice (allspice works in a pinch)

Cover the teabag and dates (if using) with 2 cups of boiling water and steep for a few minutes.

Discard the tea bag & place tea, soaked dates, tahini & almond butter in a blender.

Blend until creamy.

(for an extra special Holiday treat, whip full-fat coconut milk & a dash of vanilla extract with a handheld mixer to add a dollop of creme on top!)

Serve and Enjoy!

Tip: You can try this with other nut or seed butters to see which flavor combination you like the best. Cashew butter anyone?
